A New World Montessori School is a product of over 12 years of experience, study, and observation. Our goals are to encourage and nurture the children in the self-discovery of their world. The curriculum has been developed to encourage the children to have a lifelong love of learning. We provide a non-competitive environment where children of different abilities, race, cultural backgrounds, and ages work, play, share, and learn from one another. We provide an environment in which each child has the opportunity to progress at his/her own level of development. We maintain a happy, pleasant atmosphere in which the child can absorb information and find joy in learning.
The homelike quality of our school contributes to a relaxed, focused experience for the child. Our indoor classroom activities are placed on open shelves for selection as interest and readiness inspires the child. Our outdoor environment offers a beautiful developed playground with climbing structures, sand play, water play, painting, manipulatives, tricycles and gardens.
At A new World of Montessori, we offer four separate programs.
The Infant/Toddler room houses children ages 0 to 2 years of age, and up to 2 1/2 years if needed depending on the child’s readiness and maturity. Ratio 1:4.
In the Toddler room, we house children ages 2 to 3 years of age. Ratio 1:12.
In the Preschool we house children ages 3 to 4 years of age. Ratio 1:12.
In Pre-K we house 4-6 years of age. Ratio 1:12.
ANWM accepts applications from prospective parents throughout the year and those interested are encouraged to contact the school by way of telephone (925)791-5458, or e-mail by using the contact form to get information. In order to gain more insight into our program, parents should attend a school tour before applying. School tours for parents are held weekly in the fall and winter during the regular school day. Each tour gives a small group of visitors an opportunity to observe students and teachers in our classrooms.
Note that the tours are booked well in advance and only a certain number of parents can be accommodated on each tour on first come first serve basis. Also it should be noted that the tour does not guarantee that the child will be accepted in the school as this depends on the availability and also the eligibility of the child. After the parents have submitted the application, a child visit is scheduled, to determine the readiness, and the eligibility of the child is determined.
ANWM does not discriminate on the basis of race and color and children are admitted based on the space availability and merit.
